The once we were spacemen thing that had been going on the last couple weeks with Nathan Fillion visiting the cast finally wrapped up this morning with them announcing that they’re actually trying to reboot and make more content for Firefly…
Apparently they have everyone in the Major Cast, they got Joss Wheadons Blessing, they got Fox/Disney on board, and all they need is a platform. Which I suspect we’ll see it on Disney+ because ya know, Disney.
One slight small caveat, it’s… animated. I won’t lie, I don’t know how I feel about that.
I was cautiously excited until you said animated. I don’t know, man. Especially with how badly a lot of sequels tend to go as well. I don’t foresee this being good but if I end up wrong yay!
Yeah I was on board until they said Animated too… which isn’t entirely a deal breaker for me, but it does mean its going to need to be far more exceptional for me to consider it. Kinda sad they decided to go this route, but still happy to see it getting some attention.
Wonder what they’ll doo about Alan Tudyk? are we just going to forget Serenity? do they even plan on bringing back Wash? is this more of an alternate timeline?
Oh… and even though they have Joss’ blessing to do the project… he isn’t involved. So thats a concern.
+1 on the animation being such a gable.. However, that will absolutely help keep costs down! No need to rent a set, prop dept, etc.. Although the chance of AI being used is greater than 0 and that terrifies me. Even with the Mouse’s resources, I’m sure the temptation is there
